Are you planning to have a Baby?

If you and your partner have plans to begin a family on your own, the health condition of both of you needs to be highly taken into consideration. The ovulation cycle, the shape of the uterus, functioning of the fallopian tubes etc should be given due priority before you gear up to have a baby on your own because you might end up getting into trouble if any of these are not functioning properly. Many medical reports on serious cases of the blockage of fallopian tubes have been reporting on a day-to-day basis. Fallopian tubes facilitate transportation of sperm towards egg and the fertilized egg to reach the uterus. If fallopian tubes are blocked, they have to be treated and get things sorted out. It is through a test called Hysterosalpingogram (HSG), the cause for the blockage of fallopian tubes can be found out. It is one of the primary medical tests you would be asked to undergo if there is a pregnancy issue. The specialists of Green View Medical Center in Bangalore are geared up to render the best patient care possible for couples struggling to have a baby. What is Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)?

It is an X-ray test through which the interior part of the uterus and fallopian tubes is seen. The type of the X-ray used is known as Fluoroscopy. This test also helps find out if the fallopian tubes are fully or partially blocked; and can show the size and shape of the uterus too. There are chances that these issues lead to infertility. HSG should never be done:

1. when the woman is pregnant
2. if there is pelvic infection
3. if there is prolonged uterine bleeding

How is HSG carried out?

A speculum is inserted into the vagina so that it would be opened and the doctor can carry out cleaning the cervix. A thin tube called cannula is then put into the cervix. Then, a fluid containing a dye (iodine) is injected into the uterus. And, through the X-ray, its flow and the movement of the dye through the structure of the body is recorded. The speculum and cannula are removed once the images are received. Later, based on the reports of the images, laparoscopy is conducted for a reason that the direct view of fallopian tubes is received.

The HSG test for Blocked fallopian tubes is quick and the pain seems short lived. If HSG shows blocked tubes, it is recommended that you go for an IVF.
